I'm a Boise cellist, storyteller, mother of five, new grandmother, and apparently something of a late bloomer.
For many years, much of my musical creativity sat quietly in the background. Now, in retirement, I've discovered that songwriting feels like a natural continuation of everything I have always loved: music, memory, imagination, and the stories we carry inside us.
MercyInTheQuiet is where I explore moments from my own life that may also belong to someone else — and the roads not taken, the choices not made, and the lives we sometimes wonder about.
You'll find original songs here, along with little cello improvisations I call Cello Sketches. The music may travel through many genres, but it usually leans toward the quieter expressions — and the cello is never very far away.
Thank you for finding me here. I'm so glad you did.
